Description
Hysteria Impulse Responses was captured on location during the production of Mehmet Akif Büyükatalay’s feature film Hysteria (2025), this collection delivers the acoustic signature of the film’s main location – a central apartment setting.
In the thriller Hysteria the simulated burning of a Quran during a film production triggers severe conflict among the crew. As accusations escalate, intern Elif gets caught in a web of deceit and paranoia, finding herself at the center of an escalating conspiracy.
The impulse responses played a crucial role in post-production in creating precise spatial perspectives. In Hysteria, the protagonist is repeatedly exposed to acoustic stimuli that lie outside the frame: muffled conversations from neighboring rooms that she overhears, distant noises from the hallway, and construction noise that seeps through the adjoining walls.
The set was systematically recorded room by room in high-resolution mono and stereo formats, including complex room-to-room transmission paths through opened and closed doors. The stairwell is also covered over several floors.
